The film brings to life a vibrant, 2D world with a strong message that raises awareness around San Francisco Bay Coffee, a leading coffee brand known for its commitment to environmentally friendly practices, and their commercially compostable coffee pods—a game-changer in reducing waste and promoting sustainability in the industry. As the film itself puts it, 80 million plastic coffee pods go into landfills daily.
Directors Remus + Kiki combine humor and heart to tell a story that resonates with coffee lovers and environmental advocates alike. Wielding their signature whimsical style with a splash of nostalgic design, the animation brings a playful energy to an important message and celebrates the tiny eco-friendly choices we can make every day to make a world of difference. "We’re thankful for the chance to pursue our instincts in brewing a visual blend both friendly and funky, with aromas that adequately tingle our funny palette. By taking design inspiration from underground comic greats such as Gilbert Shelton, Donelan and R. Crumb, we aimed to bring out a lumpy, endearing quality in our characters, making them relatable in a way that better conveys to the viewer that they'll soon drown in their own plastic waste!"
